Our artisans are trained in the art of prop making and scenic art – we are carpenters and model makers, specialists in fabrication working with mixed media and exotic materials. We can create aged props that look authentic, high tech objects with illumination, as well as mechanical and electrical devices.

Set Design & Construction

We can design and build sets to your production’s needs – from previs 3D model to detailed construction drawings and CAD – we can handle the entire set build, install and strike and supply a chippy for the duration of the shoot if required.

Exhibition Stands

We can produce custom designed stands to your brief as well as signage and other branding. Designs include all lighting and electrical fixtures including charging stations. Stands can be modular frame-based, thin-wall flats or even giant polystyrene shapes (logo) and letters.

Custom Elements is a division of Sydney Prop Specialists and is located adjacent to our large prop and studio facility in Carrington Road, Marrickville.

Our workshop is equipped to handle very large set builds – and our carpenters are artisans with years of experience working with wood, metal, foam, plastic and fiberglass.

We can produce large illuminated signs, giant free-standing polystyrene letters, laser-cut metal, custom props and mechanical effects, sets with breakaway walls and ceiling pieces, flattage, rostra and podiums, exhibition stands, window displays, trucked platforms, stairs, boxes and plinths, classical and abstract sculptures, life-size animals and scenery, large scenic art and set finishing, load-bearing structures, CNC cutting, Vac forming and steel fabrication.

We have extensive experience creating builds for the event industry and for use in studio and on location.

At Custom Elements we’re focussed on your brand and delivering builds on time and on budget – we can design from scratch, supply previs in 3D and produce detailed construction drawings.

We work with the stylists at Sydney Prop Specialists to co-ordinate design elements across productions and we service the production requirements of Sydney Props Photo Studios and also design and construct sets for location shoots – we also transport, install and strike.
